I'll never forget it.
I'm a scientist, a vaccine scientist and pediatrician, but I also have a daughter with autism and intellectual disabilities.
And of course, the original assertion against vaccines was,
False claims that vaccines cause autism that was put forward in the late 1990s and amplified by Mr. Kennedy, who wrote about it in Rolling Stone magazine, claiming it was thimerosal.
And many years ago, I was in my office.
And my assistant said to me, hey, Dr. Hotez, I have these two gentlemen on the phone who would like to speak to you.
Their names are Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Francis Collins.
Can you speak with them?
And I was like, yeah, I think so.
And, you know, they get on the phone.
