But I think Serena, it's just that extra level.
She's playing doubles with Venus as well.
I mean, there's a Nike shop not far from where I am and the whole front window is like there's almost a mural to it.
You know, the goat has returned.
And it's funny, we've got two goats going around here because you go to the Lacoste shop and there's Novak as well.
It's, you know, and this is where the beauty in London, where they decorate everything around town.
But no, look, I think it's more like just bonus time.
It's so interesting because she'll play Maya Joint, who for a fair while last year was our number one Aussie and who's just been really struggling with form.
I think lost about eight of her last nine matches, but it's a centre court match, third match, and...
you know she's got it all to play for and i think she'll relish the stage and it's just such a curious thing to see how serena will play without having seen her play a singles match in so long yeah definitely so is there a feeling around the the corridors as to how she'll go like and how much actual work she's put in to to be ready to play i think that that's what's adding to the mystique is just you just don't know like for going first up after a really long spell and uh i mean i think
there's no question she would have done the work and she's certainly looking fit and she's putting the hours in on the on the practice courts and she's she's played a couple of doubles matches only she would have liked to play a bit more in the two weeks before but um her partner maboko had to pull out at queens um and i think there's also for me i've got more expectations with her and venus playing doubles because i just think they were always so dominant
And it's just a little less taxing physically.
And so I think, but it's just, you know, obviously she says she's not putting herself on the line, like she's got nothing to prove, which is absolutely true.
But there'll be the competitive juices going out there and you just, it's going to be intriguing to watch.
Well, I'm only speculating really, Whitey, but I'm feeling like this is a bit like the grass.
Matt Constable- season is a little easier for everyone on the body, certainly her knowledge of playing on grass it to me it lends itself to being just this and then maybe it's doubles at the US Open look and I think a fair bit probably does hang off.

But I think the harder thing when you get to the US Open period, which would be a natural one because she'd be so big news there, but the harder thing is the hard courts in the summer over there, it's just a bit more taxing than the grass.
I think both Williamses think that they own a lot of the players on the grass and that gives them a bit of an extra boost, if you like, coming in even a little underdone.
Well, I think you can never have too many stories in some ways.
