Because if they wanted to eat, they had to work.
Otherwise, they starved.
They had to spend all day hunting, gathering.
And as we started to invent things, then we didn't have to work as hard.
And so all this would be progress.
I don't know how long it's going to actually take.
I think there's maybe a lot of people are overly optimistic about the timeframe for where none of us have to work.
I think ultimately we will if we don't destroy ourselves before we get there.
But I think at some point in the future...
Humans won't have to work.
We won't need to work because we'll have all the things that we want without having to work to create them.
But I don't think government needs to get involved in that.
Unfortunately, probably will.
People think, oh, well, we're going to need government to have to have some universal basic income because people aren't going to have jobs.
There will always be jobs, I think, for people who need them because machines will not do everything.
There will be things that humans could do better.
If they need to.
I think more people in the future will have the option not to work.
And if they do work, I think they'll have better jobs that will be available that will be more intellectually stimulating or rewarding.
A lot of the mundane jobs will be automated, right?
