For Chelsea.
Um but just we just say on Alonso, um James, because uh he's the ninth man to take charge of Chelsea since the Clear Lake takeover in twenty twenty two.
And and just what David's saying there about maybe a little bit of a mixed performance, this is a manager and he's a manager, not a head coach.
He's gonna get a little bit more time and space perhaps to implement his ideas than maybe some of his predecessors.
Is that fair?
I think everybody hopes.
Is he uh we talked a lot last season, James, about the maybe inexperience in this Chelsea squad, the sort of the rashness that we quite often saw from them with yellows and red cards uh coming quite regularly for their players and maybe even in matches where they were in good positions, squandering those positions.
Alonso obviously had that incredible invincible season with Bayer Leverkusen and then you mentioned his Real Madrid tenure there.
But does he sort of come with the gravitas and maybe
Maybe the the managerial quality to sort of develop this squad and add that maybe a bit more uh nouse about them going into this next season.
Yeah, certainly uh Chelsea transfers over well recent windows have raised eyebrows.
I think those those moves for Henderson thirty six and Wellbeck thirty five were you know perhaps some of the most surprising moves they made in that period as well.
Um they weren't involved on Saturday, David, I don't think, but um certainly Rogers was the British transfer record holder, the most expensive British player of all time.
How did he look?
I mentioned he got that early goal, but how did he look?
And
fitting in as well with Cole Palmer, 'cause that's a big question, sort of the uh they I know they're good friends from their city days in the youth academy and Palmer is the superstar there at Chelsea, so how's he gonna feel with uh Rogers coming in alongside him?
Only get sharper as well.
Yeah, lots of focus on him, lots of focus on whether he gets to do the celebration or if it's Cole Palmer who gets to do the cold celebration.
I saw an interview this week, Palmer saying that Rogers actually came up with it first and then he uh took it on and made it what it is today.
