And a lovely quote I heard recently, hope is optimism plus a plan.
Hope isn't a passive thing that you put under a cushion on the sofa.
It's an active thing.
So you can't say I am hopeful unless you're doing something about it.
You're acting on your optimism.
So I really like that.
And I can hear, I mean, like hearing you say, like hope and optimism and that I can hear your mother and father's values in what you're saying, right?
Like that belief in the good in people and our ability as people to show up and be the best that we can be.

And maybe it's a good thing to sort of nearly finish on perhaps, but I've just started subscribing to Anna Fifield's Substack.

It's an act of daring.
It's an act of courage to be hopeful, especially when the world can appear so uncontrollable and complex and ambiguous and like everything's quite depressing.
But actually, if enough of us dare to be hopeful, we will not just imagine a better future, we will make it happen.
