uh five years, you know, the
at the low level at the end of the last decade, the surge during COVID and then the big rundown.
over the last few years.
And what's happened is that in contrast to most other countries, the US saving rate has gone down, it's stayed down.
In other countries, in Europe especially, it went up and stayed up.
So I think there's an argument to say that looking ahead
You know, you you might well see more cautious US consumers uh at the same time that maybe some of these other countries with excessive high saving rates, especially in Europe, but also Canada and a few other countries, that that that begins to to fade a little bit.
But then we
Yeah, that gives you a bit of a demand rotation.
But
The many to the few, you know, few are generally producers or owners of businesses that get protection.
And the many are consumers who've got used to cheap pricing.
And to the extent that
ladder effect fades a bit.
It doesn't disappear, but it fades a bit.
That's gonna cause a crimping of consumption of particular
it i it is, it is, and it will be.
I mean, i you know, this is where one of the most insidious aspects of Trump's policies I think is the sector specific stuff.
Because that is clear rent seeking.
