Uh, and two, uh, you'll see a greater profitability uh for making cars in the United States versus you know, making them in Germany or Japan and exporting them to the United States.
Now, obviously Trump's theory
Is that that will cause a great boom in investment in the car industry in the United States.
History tells us that actually the way it works is you tend to pad the nest and the feathers of the inefficient producers in your country, and you squeeze your consumers.
You give them less.
options less and and I think that's sort of economics one oh one that is tending, you know, maybe getting a little lost in some of the wash here when people's hours will but work its way through.
Yeah, yes, it will work its way through.
And the way it'll work its way through is the price of
You know, what what people in Australia love to call tradables.
The price of tradables for the US consumer will go up.
And uh
the availability, the broad width of supply, uh uh elasticity of supply will will go down.
Um you know, consumers will be worse off.
And importantly, certain producers will be better off.
And I think this is a really important point that again gets somewhat lost in the discussion.
