What happened to that process?
Well, in this state, like most states, the governor appoints the Public Service Commission members.
He appoints them.
In this state, for example, since 2019, all of the new capacity power generation that has been approved in this state for its three regulated utilities by the PSE has been solar and battery storage.

So go figure.
Why is this happening?
Duke, TECO and especially FPL make much more money on churning their asset base for adding all of these billions of dollars in solar.
They've added 14 billion already in money.
They're adding another 49 billion over the next 10 years, according to their announced plans in basically nothing but solar power and battery storage for Florida.
Now, they'll also tell people and tell the Public Service Commission they can't get gas turbines.
They can't get gas turbines.
GE, Vernova, and Siemens and Mitsubishi are sold out.
Not the case.
They're sold out because Nextera has made a huge commitment to GE for gas turbines.
Duke Energy has purchased 19 huge advanced frame gas turbines to auction to solar battery companies.
