Doctors are going to be confused after that day.
My father, Leo Lawrence Mitchell, on his deathbed, he was dying of cancer, October of 2012.
And my wife and my children would go down to their home.
My parents followed me to Atlanta, and we lived in Clayco, in these small little homes, 800 square feet.
And down the door from me, my father was dying.
I'm getting ready to plant a ministry, and my father's dying.
Something in my life is birthing while something in my life is dying.
And my wife and I would go down to my father's home and my mother and we would just gather around his bed and we would kneel and we would pray and we would ask God to heal him of cancer.
And then a few more came.
And a few more came.
It was 12, 13, 20 of us praying and we would do this every Wednesday night.
We would pray for my father.
And the Lord did not heal him in this life.
He is healed now in glory.
And before my father died, he said, son, I want you to keep a time of prayer going.
Final words.
Three months after I started in the ministry, October of 2012, my father in December slipped into eternity.
Never got a chance to see what God would do with his son.
I appreciate that.
And so we kept that prayer going.
