posits that consciousness goes into the inanimate r world, that it's um that it's more widespread in in in the physical universe than we commonsensically take it to be.

And what I like about that theory of consciousness

On philosophical grounds is that it's it's it's the only theory of consciousness that you take any system, it will give you a definite answer as to whether it's conscious or not conscious.

Uh all the other theories, there's gonna be borderline cases where you have something, maybe a snail, that's sort of neither

Conscious nor not conscious.

There's it's neither that there's something that it's like to be it nor that there's nothing that it's like to be it.

I d I don't think that makes sense.

I think, you know, either a s either a snail has feelings or it's an unfeeling mechanism.

I don't think there's any you know, y you can get someone who's kind of neither rich nor poor, they're kind of in the middle or neither young nor old, but something either has experience or it doesn't.

what I think anyway.

And the only scientific theory that gives that answer is the integrated information theory.

Um because very roughly it it posits that at the very moment you've got more integrated information in that system than its parts, bam, you get the lights are turned on.

Um but no, look it's and you know people might be surprised.

This is just the this is just the nature of consciousness.

It is it's not just an ec an experimental question.
