We know about

independent of experiments um and what we know about it can't be known through experiments.

We're immediately aware of it and we know its character and its nature from the inside.

And then the question is how does it fit in with what science is telling us?

Um you could just say you can't answer that with an experiment.

You just can't answer it with an experiment.

It's not that kind of question.

You could say, like my colleague Peter Vickers, well, we just can't, we don't know then.

Okay, fine.

Say we don't know.

We don't know whether it's in the soul, we don't know whether it's just a byproduct of the brain.

We don't know whether pancakes.

That's an option.

I think there are ways of evaluating theories other than experimentally.

Experimental science is is absolutely wonderful and crucial and should never be ignored, but there are also ways of evaluating theories.

Independent of just what is the what's the data.

And in fact, you find this in science as well.

You know, the the more theoretical end of physics, it's not just about do the experiment, get the results.

It's about more theoretical questions of what is more plausible, what is more elegant, uh, what is more ad hoc, or or interpretations of quantum mechanics, thinking what is the nature.
