There's a lot of America first conservatives who feel like we should not be fighting this war basically on behalf of Israel from their standpoint.
So there is support for the war among Republicans for now.
And I asked actually Clay Fuller about this.
And there still is this optimism that Trump will come out on top, the American military, the mightiest military in world history will come out on top.
But as we've all learned, and those of us who lived through the Iraq war, right, promises and the ability to bombard another country, the United States is really good at that.
But changing a country, changing an entire regime, because Iran isn't just run by a strongman.
There's an entire philosophy, a theocratic philosophy that undergirds the Iranian government the way it is disrupted now.
That's not just something you can snap and throw some bombs at and change overnight.
So the president's going to have a hard time, I think, convincing his Make America Great Again core audience, his America First core audience, which he ran and promised no foreign wars.
I think he's going to have a hard time convincing them where we go from here if Iran doesn't fall simply from airstrikes.
Thanks, Dana.
Hey, Dana.
How are you?
Well, look, I think the big story here is that, you know, President Trump, as his numbers are wobbling nationwide and his popularity is beginning to wane, he's really worried about, and we saw this beginning really last year, of Democrats taking back Congress.
Now, this happens with every president in power, right, where
The party that's out of power makes the referendum.
The president isn't doing what they're supposed to do, so you should give us at least some reigns in that.
And that's the argument that I think Democrats are really going to lean into, particularly with affordability being the lead issue here.
We're already seeing, Dana, in some of these special elections, both at the congressional and state legislative level, in areas that Donald Trump was very successful in, Democrats prevailing, like in Texas.
So, look, the president has already, with those redistricting wars that he started last year, tried to anticipate Democrats taking back at the very least the House.
