And that's because the public has been seeing him and they don't regard him quite as the great white hope that the people of Makerfield did.

Well, if he doesn't concede, he has the right as the holder of the office to take part in any contest.

So he doesn't have to get the 81 MPs supporting him that Wes Streeting would have to get if he wanted to fight and Andy Burnham would have to get.
