That's the thing, isn't it?

It's been a crazy year of football.

For me, brilliant year.

Would you have picked these two?

Maybe obviously Kerry, but even looking at the semi-finals, you wouldn't have picked maybe the three out of four getting there.

So it's been an interesting year of football.

But you have two teams that have culturally...

different but but also high expectations in terms of fan bases and football heritage and stuff like that so and there's loads of kind of conversations branching off from each group as well Andy Moran being the new manager there getting the bounce being in Ireland his first year and this unbelievable forward line popping out in their year in the first year I know I don't know who's being there but Byrne and Macdonald being unbelievable as well so it's been an interesting year for me but also Kerry

You know, they've been, I wouldn't say at the levels actually that they can get to.

The last two games in particular, maybe the opposition were a reason for that.

But certainly they've been the team that most would have said they're going to get to the final.

Which is probably the thing that doesn't make it as...

I think it's going to be very hard for a defender to win player of the year the way the rules are going to be.

Because the way you would identify a defender doing really well over the last few years was based off how he was on the ball.

Because that sticks out to you.

For me, when you're playing against really good forwards, you always had a structural support.

Whether that be a plus one, whether that be a low block, whether that be somebody seesawing in from the blind side, Kerry actually have it from primary possession.

So they have the four midfielders around the midfield, that's the first thing.

So if they win that battle, then therefore the opposition aren't attacking into Foley and their defence.

then they have also got this low block, which everybody has.
