And ultimately, Dubas got the job.
And he's actually this year pulling it up, by the way.
Yes, he is.
To your point, I mean, if you feel that strongly that you heard what I heard in terms of retool versus rebuild from Pelly, then I guess that's what the new person or people will, that'll be their marching orders.
Yeah, still early because, I mean, as Pelly himself said today, he hasn't yet picked up the phone and sought permission from teams to talk to people.
So once he starts doing that, then we start hearing different things on our end.
But, you know, what I'll say on Doug Armstrong, who should absolutely be near the top of the list for MLSC, is that I think there's some confusion in the Toronto market
that because he's stepping down as Blues GM that he's available.
He has signed a three-year extension with the Blues as president of hockey operations.
That doesn't mean that MLC shouldn't reach out and ask permission.
They absolutely should.
And if they don't, then I don't know what they're doing.
But he doesn't have an out in his deal.
It's not like he's sitting there because he's no longer GM as of July 1st that teams can drop in offers.
That's not what's happening here.
If we're going to take Keith Pele to his word that he's going to go after anyone that he feels is the right person for this job, then they should be reaching out to the Blues.
The real question is...
What is Blues owner Tom Stillman, how does he respond if the Leafs reach out?
You know, I mean, I think that the Blues are pretty excited about Doug Armstrong being a mentor and staying on to help new GM Alex Dean.
