For example, in Dean's backstory all those years ago, he was introduced as an unapologetically proud alpha male and a big believer in traditional gender roles.
Harrison, a few years later, he was then introduced to someone who won't just settle for anyone, he sets the bar ridiculously high.
And he was then constantly branded a misogynist by viewers.
Yet Tyson, he's everything they were.
Plus, he also ticks boxes that are now kind of just anti-women, anti-equality, anti-anything woke or progressive.
You know, he matched Chris with the body shaming.
He's far right.
He loves Donald Trump plus me as a gay man.
I also find him kind of homophobic.
Now, to me, the proof of this last-minute decision to bring Tyson onto the show is proven by a detail that only someone like myself would know.
And that's down to the fact that Tyson and Stephanie, they filmed their wedding last year on the lawn of the historic Lindsay House in Darling Point, Sydney.
which was the exact same spot their original villain, Mika, filmed his now-deleted wedding, which I know because I was at both of their shoots.
So again, when I'm told Tyson really was a last-minute choice of casting and producers were then faced with pulling off a whole new wedding at the last minute, which, you know, involves recce-ing venues, planning lighting, planning audio, planning the shot list, booking vendors, crews, all these logistical things that viewers don't think about,
It seems the bosses just went, oh wait, why don't we just recreate the wedding we've just wiped?
The same venue with the same crew standing in exactly the same spots getting the exact same shots they had just weeks earlier.
It's just with two different people.
And when I talk about the pressure the show faced at this point to bring on not just a regular villain, but a supervillain, another interesting point about this wedding is the fact that married at first sight's biggest boss, Tara, she was there on ground, which that just doesn't happen anymore.
She's too busy, she's too important, and she has so many people under her now reporting back to her constantly that she stopped going to weddings and shoots and all that day-to-day stuff years ago.
But this wedding was different.
There was that new pressure to ensure it didn't just deliver some drama, but Tyson outraged viewers more than ever before.
