So Brazil has produced eight PBR world champions since 2008, including riders like Silvino Alves, Jose Vitor Leme, and – oh, man –

Pacheco.

For long stretches of the last 15 years, Brazilians have been the dominant force in the PBR world title race.

The current PBR Unleashed, the B-standing, still have multiple Brazilians inside the top 15, including Alex Cerqueira, Julio Cesar Marquez, and Casio Diaz.

They all have a different style compared to the Americans and the Aussies, one which causes a bit of a stir.

So traditionally, Aussie and American riders use a rope setup that's a little quicker and easier to get into, but many Brazilian riders prefer a higher handled rope and pull it incredibly tight, often spending a lot longer in the chutes getting everything perfect before they nod.

So the theory, a tighter rope and more precise setup gives the rider a more secure feel and greater consistency out of the gate.

Considering Brazilian riders have dominated the world standings for years, it's hard to argue with the results.

But it also created plenty of debate.

So critics reckon the ropes are pulled too tight and the riders spend too long in the chutes, potentially affecting the ball before the ride even starts.

And supporters say it's just good preparation

And every rider is free to use the same setup if they want.

So you've essentially got a clash between old school rodeo culture and a newer highly technical approach that helped produce some of the most successful bull riders a sport has ever seen.

So, yeah, that's the sort of politics stuff involved.

Obviously the Brazilians have got their way.

and it's different to sort of ours.

And, yeah, the main one I think being behind the shoots and hearing from some contractors and that is, yeah, the bull being sat there with that super tight rope for a long period of time and they're going, is that affecting the bull and its performance across the board?

But, yeah, I'm only learning all this stuff now though, so I'm not going to fucking –
