Sorry that we're all in this confusion together.
So I've been at the Hill today, and I know you guys have been talking about Secretary Rubio's comments today on what he's describing as the imminent threat.
So I'm sorry, I don't know exactly where you guys were, but...
He had said, and to repeat for maybe new viewers, he had said that the imminent threat that he's defining it as is the idea that they were aware that Israeli forces would target Iran, and therefore there was an imminent threat that Iran would retaliate against U.S.
bases.
That is obviously a much twisted logic than what they have been peddling beforehand.
It's also confirming recent reporting that shows that there was no imminent threat
Senators I've talked to already find it to be complete BS as just a pretextual reason to go ahead and attack Iran.
There was one senator, I don't want to give away names yet just because we're working on the reporting still, but who put it quite well, which is that why would U.S.
foreign policy be dictated by another country's foreign policy?
And it was quite crisp, I think, refreshingly for a senator to put it that way.
And I think as we've seen from everything from the justification to the imminent threat discussion to even conversations about how many Americans have been killed, there is no clear talking point for the party.
And that's largely because it seems that much of these decisions are coming from fewer and fewer people to the chagrin of more and more people.
Yeah, I mean, I feel like there's so many possible answers as to what's informing his decision making overall.
And I think all of them have validity to it.
I mean, you know, there's the sort of very easy sort of almost cynical answer of, oh, he's, you know, trying to detract from the Epstein files.
That's, there's maybe some validity to that.
There's also the possibility that, you know, Trump often oscillates between whichever policy position he hears last, between the supposed anti-war faction that's in this movement, and then the traditional neocons, you know, your Lindsey Grahams, your Ted Cruz, your Marco Rubius, et cetera, fill in the blank of half the Republican caucus, if not more.
