versus a food that is potentially healthy for you.
And that is where I think the biggest challenge is.
I've been a nutrition scientist for twenty five years.
When I go into a supermarket and I'm trying to choose the right cereal for my children.
Even I'm not really sure what's the healthiest option.
You know, a and the less healthy option.
And and that might sound ridiculous given my twenty five years of training.
It's really difficult to know.
It is challenging to change our diet.
And so if you are someone that's getting the majority of your foods from foods that have been processed.
There's a big price differential as well.
And it's really important we acknowledge that because it's very easy for us to sit here and say everyone should avoid any processed foods.
There's about a 55% price difference between a heavily processed versus minimally processed food within a food category.
So for example, a heavily processed bread versus minimally processed or heavily processed yogurt versus minimally processed, that's a big price difference.
So lots of people cannot afford in the supermarket to buy the minimally processed equivalent food.
And I think it's important we acknowledge that.

There's some very clear epidemiological evidence.
Um and clinical trial evidence to show that not all ultra processed foods using the Nova classification are bad for you.
