typically it's swapped with something that I don't think is going to be healthier for you.
So I have a fourteen year old son who has just joined a gym a couple of months ago.
And has never looked at food labels, never shown any interest in food, and now regularly comes home with these snack bars, or all different types of snack bars, and he's like, Mum man, I've got a really healthy snack bar.
I was like, Why?
He says it's high in protein.
And this is a a fourteen year old child who is being brainwashed, I don't know by what, TikTok obviously, because that's what occupies his brain, into thinking as long as it's got protein on it, it's healthy.
Oh valley.
Often these are snack bars that you look at the backup pack, which tells you the list of ingredients, and I mean there's just all sorts of ingredients.
Lots I haven't heard of doesn't necessarily mean it's bad, but in this case, when I'm looking at the back of pack of many of his snack bars, it's just got so many synthetic ingredients.
It's got very little whole food, very little healthy fats, very little healthy protein, very
Very little fibre.
Not always, but in the case of stuff he's picking.
Assuming it's just a tin of beans, absolutely not.
The protein that's in pulses in beans is an incredibly healthy protein.
You're also getting fiber, you're getting other micronutrients with it.
It's part of the original plant.
I'm assuming these are beans that you've not got some sort of source that's all
I think that's fabulous that they're now doing that because lots of whole foods that are high in fibre, high in protein, wouldn't typically put that on their label.
And yet that's an incredibly healthy source of protein and fibre and micronutrients.
