So Alexander now has a fleet.
It's not, you know, it's not infallible.
The Tyrians do actually stage another raid.
They actually put up sails across the mouth of the harbor so that Alexander can't see what's going on.
They sort of build the outfit, this kind of swarm of ships.
And they hear rumors that Alexander kind of tends to have a nap in the middle of the day, tends to disappear into his tent and, like,
and just fall asleep and not be seen for hours.
So they're like, OK, well, that sounds like a good time to try to do something.
And so one day in the middle of the day, they drop the sails and they just send everything, basically.
They send everything in the harbor.
And they don't try to raid the promontory, interestingly.
They try to raid Alexander's fleet, which is, for the most part, drawn up on shore so that the sailors can rest and they can eat.
and they descend on this fleet and they just start laying about them every way they can.
They set ships on fire, they kill crews, and the ships that are afloat only have kind of pretty, pretty minimal crews at the time, so they're able to pretty, pretty quickly overwhelm them.
And luckily for them,
Alexander isn't having a nap.
He's actually with his fleet, and he basically orders everything he's got to launch.
But what he doesn't do is attack the Tyrian fleet.
What he does is row like mad to try to block the mouth of the harbor so that the Tyrian fleet is cut off from their retreat.
They can't actually get home.
