But it was clearly a hard slog.
Did you ever get disheartened?
Well, Dean, not long after your first book was published, you made another astonishing find.
Your life story is about lots of astonishing finds.
This was an important carboniferous fossil site in your hometown.
Carboniferous PR, we're talking about, and this is...
Long before the age of dinosaurs, over 300 million years ago, right?
Well, this success then also helped kick off your relationship with the University of Manchester, where you were invited to become an Honorary Research Fellow.
That is quite incredible.
So you completed your PhD at Manchester.
This is in 2019.
And that must have been a huge moment for you.
Certainly your mum must have been incredibly proud because she was around to see you get your PhD.
But sadly, she died the following year.
Well, Dean, during your time at Manchester, you continued to write books, notably a massive project called Dinosaurs of the British Isles, which I gather took about four years to compile.
You've also written various books since then.

Your most recent book, The Secret Lives of Dinosaurs, was published last year and featured an endorsement from Slash, the guitarist from the rock group Guns N' Roses.
What are the chances of a joint project in the future?
Some sort of rock and roll dinosaur book, maybe?
