Qing is 1644 to 1911, right?
So politically, China needs to claim all of these areas.
Mainland China PRC today still claims the territory of 18th century Qing empire.
In the late 1990s, throughout the 2000s, there was this Qing dynasty craze.
I think the legacy of that is the princesses that still walk around for a bit in palettes.
The generation of scholars that came before my current generation, people working in the 90s.
