Yeah, so I think we have to understand we're doing science, right?
And what James is saying, Professor Torr is saying, he's making arguments that don't make any scientific sense because he's saying, because it's hard, it couldn't have happened, it broke a law.
Let me take an example of a mobile phone.
Mobile phone exists today, but explain to me how it all came together.
Explain where the parts came from, how they got refined, where the metals came from.
Just because a problem is hard, it doesn't mean it's not going to be solved.
And when coming back to the point that James was making about people making claims of timing,
James obviously quotes selectively.
When I was giving my TED talk, I said it would take two years once I knew the mechanism, the theory.
But he didn't quote all of that.
And James is actually on record saying he's going to make nanotube computers within a couple of years, 10 years ago.
so i think that science is trying to give an estimate from a hopefully in good faith what they're trying to do but let us get to the core of what professor tor is saying that he says that life life is too complex to have formed randomly and he's playing to some tune i don't understand so what i would say to james before i answer his question which is um
Is he saying that life won't be explained by science?
That seems a bit weird.
So look, the point he's making about proteins folding, taking too long, wrong.
