It's very played out.
It's like a bad sequel.
And every sequel gets worse and worse than the previous one.
We've seen so many examples of this happen in everything from North Korea to China to certain countries in the Middle East that kill journalists or prevent journalists from reporting.
And again, this is why our First Amendment is so critical in this space.
I mean, the freedom of the press was explicitly enumerated.
This is not an interpretation by a Supreme Court later on.
This is not something that we can presume might be there.
The freedom of the press is explicitly listed out and it has never been a crime.
to report on the facts happening.
I mean, just imagine how different American history would be if simply reporting on an event was considered a crime in and of itself.
How would we get Watergate if reporting on Watergate was considered a crime?
How do we get any knowledge of the Civil War if reporting on the Civil War was considered a crime?
So even in times of war, reporting on the events that were happening were a protected class.
And so now to simply report on what protesters are doing
I mean, to call that a crime, it undermines the entire basis of our First Amendment.
And this is why, to me, this is not a left versus right issue.
This is not a Republican versus Democrat issue.
You could be the staunchest right-wing MAGA Republican and recognize the importance of worship without oppression.
But whatever those protestors were or weren't doing, your job there was simply to document and report.
