And this current Senate works two and a half days a week, Glenn.
OK, they work Monday night to Thursday at noon and they go on recess, you know, for weeks.
They don't stay in Washington and do this work.
And what we are talking about doing, a true deliberative environment where you are dealing with an obstructive minority like you are with the Democrats, it takes work.
And these senators simply do not want to do it.
So can John Thune as leader, right, show some, you know, small L leadership and say, guys, you know, get in the locker room.
I'm going to give you a pep talk.
We are doing this.
Yes, he could do that, but he has chosen not to.
But the problem is bigger than John Thune, honestly.
It's the entire Republican conference, outside of a few, doesn't want to put in the work.
Well, it's that his conference does not want to do another voterama before the midterms.
And if people are familiar with this process, it's an unlimited amendment process in the Senate.
Now, debate is limited under reconciliation, but amending is not.
So, ironically, the objection to the talking filibuster is, oh my gosh, they can offer unlimited amendments.
Well, every budget resolution and every reconciliation vehicle also comes with an unlimited amendment process.
Now, what happens is that, you know, Democrats think they can offer a bunch of poison pills.
They have already done this, right?
The Senate has already been through multiple voter-ramas.
I don't personally think Democrats have any new ideas that they haven't already forced Republicans to vote on.
