I had workers tell me to stay away from startups or kind of smaller companies. matched

There's too much visibility in terms of what you're doing. matched

And frankly, too much work is what they said. matched

I was told the ideal situation is kind of like an older company that hasn't quite figured out remote work yet, but they'll let you work from home. matched

But they don't have all the structures in place and they're not letting everyone work from home. matched

Someone told me that that's helpful. matched

Some people are working from home, some aren't. matched

But they're not doing everything with remote workers in mind. matched

And, you know, they might be keeping closer tabs on you if that were the case. matched

The people I talked to were not super worried about that. matched

I mean, one person had her company reach out with an email about kind of like, you know, starting to transition back to the office. matched

And she was like, I mean, if they make me do that, I'll just get another second job. matched

And that is what she ended up doing. matched

I think they just feel like the remote job market has gotten so much bigger. matched

And I think especially with this Delta stuff, I mean, all these companies had plans and so many of them are putting the brakes on them. matched

And I really do think that inevitably it has to make companies more open to remote work. matched

And again, these people just feel like they have leverage because they have two jobs. matched

So they could ditch the job that's calling them back into the office and then get another one down the line. matched
