So one example we have in the story is, for instance, give the example of retail loans. matched

Obviously, retail retailers are an area that have had a lot of existential problems just from online shopping and high debt burdens and things like that. matched

And back in the day, you know, these retailers may have been able to get a variety of different loans from banks. matched

But nowadays, really, the focus in the sector is on these very well-securitized loans that are backed by assets that have proven to be very, very solid even during bankruptcy. matched

So if a bank makes you this type of loan, they're going to get paid back no matter what horrible thing happens to your business. matched

And so what they're doing is in this area, for instance, they're making these loans, but they're making them to maybe people they wouldn't have made them to in the past. matched

That's how confident they are in kind of the safety of this type of loan. matched

So it's really interesting, especially having covered the implosion or the fear of an implosion in that industry a few years ago. matched

Basically, there was a huge pullback. matched

Banks couldn't do enough to try to reassure their shareholders that they were cutting back on energy exposure, that it was manageable, that matched

They were tightening terms. matched

And now what slowly happened has been an easing of terms. matched

So banks want to get these customers. matched

They think they're pretty safe. matched

And so they're letting them have, for instance, like higher debt burdens than before. matched

And, you know, that is just a total shift in direction in lending to this industry. matched
