What struck me about it is, as I was reading it, it gave me such a sense of security. Like, just thinking about how this young girl is born and brought into the world. And the illustrations are so gorgeous. But you're writing in the illustrations. Mm-hmm. leave you with the sense that this young new being is just has been woven into this beautiful, beautiful tapestry of her family.
What struck me about it is, as I was reading it, it gave me such a sense of security. Like, just thinking about how this young girl is born and brought into the world. But it was just this precious feeling of safety that I got from reading this story through the whole thing. I thought, what a beautiful gift to give a child that sense of safety, which feels all the more profound thinking about your own childhood and how unsafe you felt.
