Her father had texted her a few times saying that they miss her and they want to talk to her.
And she would reply once in a while saying that she was busy with work and school and that she would get back to them in a couple of days.
As more days passed, her father was starting to get more and more worried that she wasn't responding to his multiple attempts at video calling her.
Then by March 3rd of 2022, Irene's family received some text messages from her that sounded a little bit out of place.
The first message said,
Dad, I dropped my phone in the water and now my microphone doesn't work.
Basically explaining that this is why she couldn't call or video chat within the last couple of days.
Then in another message, she wrote, I just want you to know that I love and miss you and mom.
Her father responded, We miss you, we want to see you, not just chat on WhatsApp.
We love you always.
You will be my daughter forever.
There was also a message where
Where apparently she had said something that she may be moving to Texas because she just was not happy with her life in Gillette.
But I wasn't able to find this exact message.
I just saw that it was mentioned that she said that to her dad.
A few days had passed, and after this, Irene's parents told Irene's brothers that she would usually at least text them back, but now she wasn't even texting them.
So Kennedy told his parents that he would try to text Irene and ask her if she's okay and ask her what she's been up to.
Once again, Irene did text back saying that she was just really busy with school and work.
By this point, Kennedy told his parents that Irene was just really busy and that she was going to call them that weekend.
But once again, more weeks continued to pass and now she hadn't responded to anybody's text messages.
