They started to worry about her well being because she just wasn't getting into contact with them as frequently as she always had, especially when she was living in Idaho.
But like I said, they knew that she was a very independent woman.
They knew that she was figuring things out for herself.
So
That's what they figured that she was doing.
They didn't want to worry too much about her because you know she was in nursing school, she was working, so she had a lot of things on her plate, and she had just moved, so they tried not to be too concerned.
She was having a little bit of trouble adjusting to her move to Wyoming because she had never been this far away from her family.
She had been living with her parents in Kenya, and then when she moved to the US, she had her brothers right there.
She was also living in a very small town, which is something that she wasn't used to.
She came from Nairobi, which is, I believe, the capital of Kenya and a very big city.
So this was just a lot of adjusting for her.
However, Irene was known to call or video chat her parents who were back in Kenya.
Every other day, or if she was really busy, every few days.
So February 24th of 2022 was no different.
They chatted via video call on WhatsApp, but during this call, her father noticed that something about her was a bit off.
When they saw her on screen, her dad pointed out that she looked a little bit tired and hungry.
Now he did say this in more so of a teasing manner, but he definitely noticed she didn't have the same happy and bubbly smile that she usually had when talking to her parents.
Her hair was also normally braided, but now it was unbraided and it looked a bit messy.
So because of this, her dad just told her to make sure she drinks some warm milk and make sure she relaxes.
However, after this call on this day, she stopped calling her family altogether.
