Obviously, she just contradicted herself in that statement, so the officer asked her again what she was doing in Rochester.
So this time she said that she was actually at work to get her paycheck.
So then she cashed it and then went home to make sure her kids were out of bed.
She then went to pay her electricity bill and then went back to work.
When asked if the silver SUV belonged to her, she said that it was actually her sister's Samantha's car.
Her vehicle was in the shop.
At that point, the officer asked Sarah if she and Samantha were twins and she confirmed that they were.
By that point, the officer left the truck to go talk to the other officers about next steps, but left the recording device running.
While he was gone, Samantha went over to the car to speak with Sarah briefly before the officer returned.
The officer then asked Sarah if she would be willing to answer more questions at the station, but by that point, she seemed to get more nervous.
She stated that she knew she hit people and she knew she killed them, but she didn't do anything wrong.
She asked if she would be criminally charged and asked what the charges would be and he said that it would be up to the county attorney.
By that point, officers started wrapping things up.
Samantha asked if she could grab something from the silver SUV and officers agreed.
She then went in and under the driver's seat and she pulled out her own ID, which had been expired.
Again, Samantha had a temporary ID with her, which she showed officers, so she went to the silver SUV to grab her expired ID out of the vehicle.
So just to sort of remind you, when officers were on scene, Sarah, who said she was driving the silver SUV, had to go over to the black SUV to get her ID, whereas Samantha, who said she was driving the black SUV,
had to get her expired ID out of the silver SUV.
So they kind of flip-flopped whose ID was in each car.
After Samantha grabbed her ID out of the silver SUV, officers then took Sarah's cell phone for evidence and then towed the silver SUV for later examination.
