She was a psychiatrist who evaluated Lindsay after the killings, and she was called by the prosecution and testified that she did not observe any clear signs of psychosis during those examinations.
She described Lindsay as calm, cooperative, and organized, claiming that she was able to communicate clearly.
So this is important because, as part of the prosecution's case,
Lindsay was able to deliberately plan and carry out the killings.
That is their argument.
But obviously you'll remember that obviously one of the defences' key claims is that Lindsay could have been experiencing postpartum psychosis.
A condition that disrupts a person's sense of reality after they give birth.
She was also intubated and unable to speak or communicate for several days after the killings.
So this evaluation was not done in that immediate aftermath because she was so unwell.
Kevin Reddington, the defense attorney, used the cross-examination of the doctor as an opportunity to challenge that.
This also related to the defense's other claim that Lindsay Clancy's mental health deteriorated because of the sheer volume and cocktail of drugs she was on.
She was obviously prescribed 13 drugs, as you say um already there, Kayla.
After this exchange, however, the prosecution did outline that in fact Lindsay was not on all of those drugs at the same time.
They also said that Lindsay had only taken a small amount of some of those drugs, some of them not at all.
The doctor said that she was not aware of that.
After she was experiencing serious psychological problems.
Dr.
Goodhart testified that Lindsay reported suicidal thoughts, severe anxiety, and an ilability to sleep, but that she did not observe psychosis symptoms.
Well, we know that she was officially diagnosed with severe major depressive disorder, but without psychotic features.
