But there is such a sense of joy and ease to the way that she wears this incredibly fancy and in some cases fantastical dress.
I mean, there was a Chanel dress that she wore a couple of weeks ago, for example, that was sort of like a very sparkly slip dress with these two big sort of like baubles of furry florals on the back of it.
And, you know, I mean, I love this.
I think what feels very contemporary now in terms of fashion and even I sort of dread the word luxury, but I guess I'll use it.
But this idea of beauty that has a sense of warmth and whimsy to it, because I think for such a long time, fashion does have this effect on so many of us that it seems so severe and self-serious.
And it seemed that way for a long time, a number of years.
And in many ways, I think there was sort of this runaway train of micro trends during the pandemic that at first was kind of fun and entertaining to follow, but then became very frustrating and confusing.
And I think... Exhausting.
Exhausting, yes.
And so finding things now that make us feel, I think...
And one of the ways I think in many of us feel human is by feeling a sense of connection or seeing a sense of humor in something.
You know, I mean, one of the, not to bring up AI, but, you know, one thing.
One thing that I have noticed is that, you know, when I watch like videos of robots dancing or something, or like when I see people's interactions with chat GPT, you know, neither of them have a particularly good sense of humor.
And I do think that's something that keeps us quite tethered to the real world, you know, is humor.
is that sense of pleasure and a slight surprise.
I mean, that's really what humor is, right?
It's like the little thrill of the unexpected.
What I also find so...
Like, I guess what's defining maybe the sort of attitude or feeling of fashion now is that so many people, I think, are figuring out how to shop for secondhand things.
