Their parents know their children are gonna have a full day of education and another 40,000 plus have full day kindergarten that they never had.
We're the first city ever, others have followed.
I made a policy that if you got a B average in high school, community college was free.
Tuition, books, and transportation.
and 20 000 kids have made themselves not only available but their parents didn't have to pay for it didn't have to go in the poor house didn't have to make the choice between another job and which child gets to go to school and also
If you kept the B average in community college, we had every college and university throughout the state of Illinois would give you 25% to 50% off for the next two years.
So kids were graduating college with no debt.
I love it.
And you can do those type of things now.
Another piece of legacy that I'm proud of is...
Chicago's original city plan, it was a two-waterfront city.
The lake, which is stunningly beautiful, et cetera, that was open, only city on the Great Lakes, has no industrialization.
And then I created a river walk on our river and four boathouses for canoeing and kayaking.
And the river, which had been industrialized in the city, was never really part of the city.
And I threw the river walk, which was written up as one of the great public investments,
created a space that had never existed.
And so the mayor has a capacity.
And so when I walk in,
