Um, the fundamental difference between a backlink and a brand mention is that today, if you're trying to rank higher in in Google, you want a backlink from a website that has a higher domain authority than you.
And there's really just an infinite amount of websites out there that have a higher domain authority than you.

If you look at a prompt, there's only about ten to fifteen sources that are provided.
And so it's it's highly, highly targeted.
So instead of going out and being like, Okay, well, I just need to get a backlink from a company in like the same industry so it's somewhat relevant but has a higher domain authority, there's a ton of those out there.
Whereas when you look at a brand mention, it is incredibly more difficult to get that because there's only ten to fifteen sources per search prompt that you know with confidence that if you go after, you'll be more likely to show up in the answer.
So that's the kind of the first fundamental difference is that it's highly targeted in in the source or the article versus a backlink is very broad in terms of where you can get that backlink from.
The second thing is actually the name itself.
The link itself doesn't matter as much when it comes to LLMs.
It's all about the copy and the way that your um your product, your company, your service is actually positioned in that article.
So, you know, while I I can't say that the link doesn't matter at all, I think there is some benefit to the link itself.
It's more so about the copy and how your product or service is actually described.
