And look, it's not that it didn't hurt my feelings.
I'll give you a good example, something that happened to me, and it actually has everything to do with intention.
I went to go, I auditioned at a restaurant in Dallas.
It was a little town.
dinky little restaurant it was it was just a place I wanted to be and I auditioned for this owner of the restaurant and when I got done with my audition he was really kind of rude and he said Leila when you learn how to belly dance come back and he gets up from the table and he walks off
And you know, what do you do when someone says that to you?
You're just like, do I quit right then and there?
And I didn't think I was that bad.
So I went home and I cried, you know, and I went, no, no, no, no.
So what I did is I, I went back to square one and in three months I redid my whole dancing.
I just threw out what I think didn't work.
And then I kept what did work.
And then I decided that I was going to move my way, not move in ways that didn't feel too good because I was studying from a lot of different people.
And their choreographies just didn't fit me.
So I finally had to own my dance.
And so the key here is to own what you want to be and do.
And so I went, you know what?
No one's going to tell me I can't belly dance unless it's me.
So if I say I can't dance and I'm going to move off and do something else.
So three months goes along and then I go back and he sees me walk in and he rolls his eyes because he remembered me.
