And then you have a third difficulty, which is usually what happens when you go into these debate preps is you're working off of what your positions already are.
But they're actually having to come up with these positions as they're prepping her.
So it really is the metaphorical building the plane as it's taking off.
And if you if you read between the lines and Harris's schedule, she's done a really good job of being out there.
But there are pretty large uninterrupted blocks of time in which the campaign acknowledges that she's doing tons of prep already, which I think is really smart.
And I imagine once they feel like she's ready, they're going to put her out there to do these press conferences, but that she is preparing a ton behind the scenes for the inevitable moment where she has to go off script.

And Whitney, to your point on the policy, like,
You know, it's weird because a huge segment of the voting public is so cynical that they don't take seriously what anybody says on policy.
But then on the other hand, you're right.
Like, you know, the Project 2025 is a good example.
Like the more specific you are, the more you open yourself up.
Obviously, their problem is beyond being specific.
It's what they're specific about.
My sense is what they're trying to calibrate is to put enough out there so that they avoid the knock that she's not substantive enough.

While trying not to say too much.
I agree.
It certainly isn't.
They went to places I wouldn't have gone, but I understand what they're trying to do, if that makes any sense.
