So when you've got a system that has been neglected, that has not had checks and balances in place, that has not had sunshine in place, you have to fix that first.
That's your foundation.
So if you find the city council fixing a lot of inside city council issues, it's not because they want to do that.
People would rather spend time on quality of life.
People would rather spend time on the issues that grab attention.
But there's a lot of hard work that's being done internally to fix those issues.
To me, that is a false statement.
But it was a lack of trust from one side versus the other to say that there were issues internally.
until they were exposed that we're finally able to actually address those issues, right?
And it's because those issues were exposed, we were finally able to get to those issues because we're always told, oh, just trust the city staff.
They know exactly what they're doing.
When certain things were broken, we had to go back in and find those.
So that you can't, that's why I'm saying I'm reacting to that statement because you have to certainly fix those.
Now, if we had trust among the five of us, we would have gotten to these issues earlier.
And that's what I would love to get to, is to get to that level of trust to say, here's why we're going after this issue, because we see something's broken.
Because you don't impact the public if you're stuck here.
I don't disagree.
So.
I think we have a better relationship with staff than we ever had in the past.
I mean, but I don't know if other people feel that way.
