That distinction to me is very important.
I want to add to your statement here.
You and I have had this conversation.
Trust the staff.
If you have competent staff, what happens when you don't and you have to do a check in on that?
Right.
If you've witnessed over the last two years what has been uncovered and what we've had to do, would you still say?
So we have to talk about this.
Look, we're in an era where expertise is a commodity, but experience is not.
We are trusting on the experience of the city managers and staff to do something.
But when we have an issue that gets uncovered, because it has to be corrected, or it needs to be corrected the council's.
The city council manager form of government actually hinders everything and goes against almost everything that was designed to protect it against, which is really the corruption of a number of city political class.
And so what we end up is the same problem when we have with term limits is that the city staff becomes super powerful and can get corrupted.
with no checks and balance.
And that's what's been happening in most California cities.
And we're seeing that right now where city managers with undue influence have corrupted their institutions.
We've had to fix this over the last two years.
And that's the bold statement I'm gonna make on it.
And so this is where our disagreement is, trust the staff, but the staff went down and passed so far that it had to be fixed.
That was our issue here, which is why we're here on council at the moment.
