but i'm clearly hearing that's the council's focus right now well i think it's an important focus to think about how we can use it to improve our operations doing more with less and i was just that's my concern that's at the policy level so if there's anything we can do there to actually start implementing those things it might help with budgets and might help with our ability to deliver on services so if it becomes a one program then council can actually allocate resources and
just why we only completed three out of the 30 because there are other bigger things that popped up throughout the year that were operational and so as you know as a council i don't know how we provide you the proper direction as to you know do less of this so we can do more of this and we treat the cwp as like its own little island
but it doesn't get its own little island worth of budget to support the 30, or in terms of resources and budget.
It's the budget, but the resources to implement.
And I think that's probably your challenge.

If we had the level of trust here, we could do the forced trading on projects.
Right.
Like you really want to advocate for this because your constituents want X. I really want this on Y. Let's just cut a deal and reprioritize and push stuff around so you can get to it because everything's important.
But nothing's important if you can't get to something and at least complete something.
And that's where I think it's really important to be able to do that.
that going to be directed just functionally it's something that we would address in a council meeting or something that would be delivered as an informational item yeah except like i just i just want to make sure that we're not also creating work for ourselves that actually along the lines what you are saying i would say that you already do that with your city manager newsletters and maybe it's just rearranging that in a quarterly basis so people can see what progress has occurred
And that might be easier so you don't have to do a lot of rework.
Because it's basically an operational dashboard, what you sent to us.
But I think you can recategorize it.
I mean, as an example, in health care in Oregon, like you, they adjust what is covered based on what their budget is and they move up and down, right?
Something like that.
So we might have 60 on the list, but the line is at 30 today.
It might be at 25 this year because of budgets.
