So anyway, in 1981, John finally sets his assassination plan into motion.

And he takes a Greyhound bus over to Washington, D.C.

And there he checks into a hotel.

And he ends up reading the newspaper which lays out Reagan's schedule.

And according to this schedule, Reagan will be giving a speech in a couple of hours.

So he writes one last letter to Jody.

And then he loads up his gun.

Then he heads over to this hotel where Reagan is going to be giving that speech.

And as John expected, after the speech, Reagan comes out of the hotel and he's got a few Secret Service agents and staff around him.

And as he's walking, he's waving to everyone there to see him and whatnot.

And that is when John appears in the middle of a crowd of reporters and he pulls out his gun.

And blam, blam, blam, blam, blam.

He shoots at Reagan.

Now, most of his shots miss and they hit other people.

But one of them actually ricochets off the bulletproof limousine and hits Reagan.

So the Secret Service immediately gets Reagan and they toss him into the limo and the limo drives him to the hospital.

While other Secret Service agents grab John and they wrestle him to the ground and bam, they arrest him.

Now, luckily, all the people who John shot that day survived, but one of them unfortunately died years later due to complications from his injuries from the shooting.
