And so Fausto's not looking so good.
You can see that jog to the north over the past day or so.
And that's part of the reason that the track shifted north and basically scraping by Hawaii instead of any direct impacts on Hawaii.
Now, it'll still be a wave maker for Hawaii.
They'll still have some strong winds and rains.
But since it is a mountainous region, a lot of times the northern side of the island is having a different day than the southern side of the island.
And with Fausto passing to the north over the next couple of days, that will certainly be the case.
The good news is Fausto will continue to weaken as it moves to the north of Hawaii.
So tomorrow morning, down to 45 mph sustained winds.
And you can see how far north of the islands it's passing.
It's down to 35 mile per hour sustained winds by Thursday, and it's almost clear of Hawaii at that point.
And then by Friday, it's nothing and it's gone.
So this is before the weekend is through here, this system will be in and out of here.
And you can see on the European model how it starts to erode and become a more open tropical wave, especially as we get closer to the weekend with the Hawaiian islands being positioned right there.
As we take a look at Genevieve now.
So Genevieve was a
monster.
Look at this eye.
We've got the 3D satellite turned on so you can see where we first start to see a little sign of weakening on the northern side of it there.
It could be going through an eyewall replacement cycle, but the forecast models generally show it running into a little bit of shear and some cooler waters, both of which are going to weaken Genevieve quite a bit.
