And England had a really good team and we got to the semifinals and there was a lot of drama around the team and things happened and it caught the imagination more than ever of the country.
And because I'd just been introduced to football through my dad taking me to that game and then that Crystal Palace had had quite a good few months, I just, that was it.
I fell in love with England.
Pavarotti singing Nessun Dorma, which was the soundtrack to that World Cup in 1990, which still gives me chills.
I know, I know.
It still does.
Sometimes I just put that thing on in the car and I whack it up and I just go back to being nine years old.
