Well, you know, depression is a much more severe step.
Certainly, if we have a dollar gas, then that would be probably heading us towards depression territory.
But a recession is looking more likely.
But I will say that there has been this strange resilience movement.
in the American economy, despite the wrecking ball of Donald Trump's completely unhinged tariffs, despite the wrecking ball of this war.
And so I think it depends on how protracted this conflict is and how disruptive this conflict is in terms of
goods getting through the Strait of Hormuz with oil prices and things of that nature and what the government response is.
I think the biggest difference that we're seeing in response to this war is that the global community, whether it's the EU or other countries, are actually taking steps to blunt some of the impacts
of these closures, whether that's fuel subsidies or credits or things like that.
They're rationing out things because there is more of a supply issue in other countries.
And in this country, I don't see any kind of indication whatsoever that this administration, the Republicans in Congress are going to make those moves.
Sean Duffy came out and said that they don't think that they need to bail out the low cost airlines with their fuel prices.
And so if we see that this government does not make any moves to try to insulate this country from the impacts, whether that's businesses and this, that, and the other, then we will see a much more severe economic response.
I'm more likely to expect that because we have a president and we have his sycophants
that never want to acknowledge the carnage of his policies.
He got up there at the State of the Union and said that the economy is booming, there's no inflation, and they fixed all these things.
