Well, at the same time, they've got a government that's, frankly, out of control.
particularly in the West Bank.
I associate myself with Rahm Emanuel's speech in Tel Aviv last week, where he said Netanyahu has decided that he is going to be able to defeat all of his adversaries.
So whether you're talking Lebanon, Gaza, West Bank, Iran, it's perpetual war all the time.
And then with Smotrich and Ben-Gavir, you've got people who really do want to drive all of the Palestinians out of Gaza and the West Bank, and they're in the government.
OK, so the basic idea of the program when it was first presented to me, like I said, it's co-development programs and like a missile defense, something we could definitely learn from Israel on.
And it's a program.
You can decide whether or not to co-development programs.
And by the way, if we decide in Congress that we don't like that program, we can vote it down.
It's not outside of the democratic process.
We don't have to vote and approve every single program of record that the Pentagon does.

So I don't agree with that aspect of it.
But a couple of constituents in particular reached out to me and explained that, look, at this point, voting for anything that integrates the U.S.
and the Israeli government further, given where the Netanyahu government is at, is just a statement we don't want to make right now.
And I agreed with that.
And that's what caused me to change my mind on that particular issue.
I would vote to remove it from the bill, yes.
Except for the fact that I'm in the minority.
