It's not the appropriations bill, it's the authorizing bill, which is the other point I've been trying to get to.
Congress needs to exercise oversight of the Department of Defense.
We've got a provision in the bill that would bring back collective bargaining for all DOD employees, which we got put into the bill.
We've got a variety of different things that Defense Secretary Haig says budgets if he doesn't begin to turn over more information.
It's us exercising our oversight.
If we pull back from that and don't do anything, that winds up with the executive branch having all the control and all the authority if we just don't pass anything.
So there are some things in this bill that exercise oversight of the Pentagon.
We step back from that.
Trump just goes and does what he wants to do without any congressional oversight.
So that that's the balance, because I think the mistake when you say leverage, the notion is if we say we won't vote for the Republicans will therefore give us this, this, this and this.
I mean, a lot of this— Sure, it will, but it may not result in that.

Because the real challenge here is what Israel has historically been.

Israel was historically a democratic state in the middle of no democratic states.
They were a very strong ally of the U.S.
We partnered with them on a variety of things, counterterrorism being the biggest thing.
