Very simple stuff.
Like the president should not personally profit from government spending bills, or later I'm going to be offering one saying that Congress and only Congress has the power of the purse.
So with everything else happening right now, if we don't have a funding deal by September 30th, we will have a government shutdown.
And there's really not a good faith effort being made at all to even hear us out at all.
And that's what it takes.
It takes both parties working together.
Can you sit in there a little bit?

But yeah, it's crazy.
Honestly, Don, is these members, whether they'll admit it or they won't, rank and file members, they know that if they get crosswise with the administration on anything, that Mike Johnson does not have their back.
So if they upset the president or his team,
Normally, the Speaker of the House would stand up for his or her rank and file members.
Never did I once worry if I ever did anything that got me sideways a little bit with the Biden administration, that Speaker Pelosi would not have my back or that I would face a primary challenge from the administration.
But that's what these folks are dealing with.
They know that if they stand up and they do what's right, even if they know it to be obviously the right thing,
that if they stand up for the truth or they stand up really for the needs and interests of their constituents in a way that is contrary to the administration, contrary to Trump,
that no one will have their back.
