We've only got nine of the 12 done.
The 10th will be done.
They're all partisan.
They're all Republican votes, not a single Democratic vote on any of it.
And so then it's supposed to pass the House, go to the Senate, and then some sort of compromise is supposed to be worked out.
Only two of the 12 bills have even got to the House floor.
The third one is being debated today on the House floor.
So we're not even close.
which means we're not going to have a real spending deal by September 30.
So that begs the question, well, what do we do?
Well, what Congress does, like every time, is punt.
We just kick the can down the road.
And that's bad for everybody.
That's bad for our debt.
It's bad for our deficit.
It's bad for our priorities, whether it's health care or child care or any of the other things that we need to address.
It is no way to run the government.
It's no way to run anything.
I think a lot of it has to do with the campaign finance system.
