And I still remember the, was it Newtown?
Newtown, yeah.
And I remember saying to myself, if that group of children does not prompt people to act, then whatever will.
And we can talk about gun violence in so many ways.
The amount of gun violence that happens every day in the United States, right?
But those shootings at a church where people, places that were normally thought of as safe are not even safe anymore.
But to your point, it happened, it was part of the news cycle, and then boom, we move on to something else.
Exactly.
Right.
Right.
And what you often hear people say is, well, we don't want to politicize a tragedy.
But think about some of the things that we are afraid to do.
So I introduced a bill, and there's a bill in the Senate, and it's really about declaring gun violence a public health crisis and actually doing some research with our big health agencies so we can treat it like the public health crisis that it is.
Politics is political.
Exactly, right?
I mean, it's political.
That's why it's called politics.
It's how you raise awareness.
Right.
It's how you get things done.
